Jazz : capture the moment

"Moments come and go so fast, but they are what make up the whole of life. Little bitty moments here and there. They turn into hours and days and weeks—ultimately an entire lifetime"  - Luci Swindoll  , I married Adventure ❤

I keep a paper trail as long as my travels. If only I could make a sound trail for all my ears have heard! I love live music. I love to hear and listen and learn from stories and songs. I went to hear a group from New York City play a concert last night. East Eleventh Jazz Collective was composed o a piano, violin, bass and electric guitar, and drums. Their sound was vibrant and fancy. They played a mix of standards with original compositions with a good mix of spontaneous groove and soul. The music they made made me feel like I was dancing on the inside. My mind and heart felt the rythmn and movement. I had the feeling of dancing without moving from my white table cloth fancy table and comfy chair.

I watched the sunset over the ocean, while sharing a delightful meal with a new friend.  Rainforest martinis, plantain and coconut crusted mahi mahi with yuca and sweet potato mash finished with honey and pineapple sauce. All my senses were overwhelmed and satisfied.

Hearing the music and the sound of rain

Seeing the jungle and ocean view

Tasting the cultural cuisine

Feeling the breeze and warmth of the evening air

I was fully alive in this moment. An Umani sense memory as my cousin Adam described to me once  : " you never forget memories that connect all five of your senses!"
